267518 vs 278616 uses different patterning for the exact same musical section so applying the minijack pattern at 267518 to both should fix the issue

(yes i lost the original follow-up comment)

this continues up to 109540|2,109627|3 so copy-pasting all iterations is a literal waste

the thing i wanna point out is that these (compared to 67922|2,68009|2, 77633|3,77720|3,…) have different structures despite representing the same 2 notes, admittedly hard to notice cuz the section plays well but oh well

(69309|3,69396|1 and the likes are an exception cuz they stand out (you know how))

feels a bit overcharted to me for downtime here in the song, reduce the density possibly

Ventilo
Creator

I don't consider it as overchrted and I don't really feel that it's a downtime. For the density I don't think it's a problem, there is a noticeable difference in density between this part and the part coming after it and I don't think it would be a good thing to make this density gap too big as I want this chart to be a lot focus on stamina/consistency

bass sounds not layered here when compared with previous sections such as 55783|1,55827|2,55870|4,55913|3. its excusable for 59946 as you have your priority in layering and that's clear to me

could do with continued representation at 49194 & 49281 for these, it's weird how you layer in these synth wubs / bursts but then don't continue them and this happens quite frequently, is this intentional for difficulty reasons or something?

311044 to 330986 has quite variable patterning in a bad way (especially on the instrumental-synth-thing). i understand your intention to mix up things a bit, but here it becomes inconsistencies due to how vastly different some iterations can be (you switched between continuous doubles, to double-single-double, double-double-single, some with jacks, some without jacs, blabla..). would be nice if you can rework on this to be more consistent.

Lott

this seems to be a similar issue to https://quavergame.com/mapset/map/69241/mods#mod_7567, and i agree on what eclipse- said, using 1 template and apply that for the whole section.

Ventilo
Creator

I see where is the issue, I switched the focus randomly several times during that part (not really randomly but I agree that I need to keep it consistent during this part. The whole part is now more consistent, mosstly based on what the first few measures were at 1st

this is surprisingly underwhelming for a set of continuous kicks (especially compared to 88125 which is a bit similar), personally you might need to use sum more jacks on this to differentiate this with surrounding patterns

Suggestion

(the timeline i'm gonna refer in this mod is 267518, 268905, as well as similar iterations occuring later)

felt somewhat confused with this patterning change, you were using doubles at the start of each of these growls (the first one is not exactly a growl but eh you patterned it the same) and now triples are being used

same for 278616, 280003, the 1/8 bursts are moved by 1/4, which is yet another patterning "variety" for this

i think the reason for this is to make stuffs less repetitive, but 1. the bursts already varies in itself and 2. this kind of variety feels more disoriented than engaging imo

Lott
Ranking Supervisor

overall i suggest keeping stuffs consistent when it comes to this growl (reasons stated above), with doubles at the start of each burst and use whatever you picked at https://quavergame.com/mapset/map/69241/mods#mod_8930 (which is either full 1/8 or 1/8->1/6)

sorry if this comes out as confusing, tho i don't have any better ways to explain this

this is more of a subjective concern, however it would be nice if you progresses from 1/6 (to maybe 1/7) to 1/8 so that it can make a smoother buildup to accompany the pewpews getting faster

also this small v at 219136|2,219179|1,219223|2 right after the minijack at 218876|1,218962|1 is quite abrupt so i also suggest rearranging this

Ventilo
Creator

1/for the v I competely rearranged that to a 1/4 stream pattern
2/What do you think if I start at 03:39:310 with 1/5 and on each beat I increase the snap by one ? (1/5=>1/6=>1/7=>1/8) also if you think it's a good idea : Idk how to make 1/5 and 1/7 snaps on Quaver atm (pliz elp)

Lott
Ranking Supervisor

to use custom snaps, go to Beat Snap (bottom right corner), choose Custom and type x where 1/x is your desired snap (if you want 1/5 you do like what i said then type 5)

your solution is good enough i suppose

Accepted
Suggestion
Lott
Ranking Supervisor

compare to other iterations of this pattern (ie 49888), this is an inconsistency, since you used 1/6 here while used 1/8 for the rest of the stuffs.
however, i personally prefer using 1/6 wayyy more than 1/8, because of how the growl fades out

you can either fix the 1/6 burst to 1/8, or make all other iterations of this growl mapped like 83183, both works fine i suppose

Lott

from 11217 to 13992, 16766 to 19541, the "volume-progressing-synths" (which appears from 8963 to 11217) doesn't exist at these sections, so the long streams are quite misleading. pls remove the notes above to fix this, unless you have another reason to specify

section starting at 288673|4:
A lot of trouble with consistency here. This triple-minijack figure 288847|1,288934|1,289020|2,289107|2,289194|4,289280|4 is correctly replicated at 290234|4 and then at 291621|2,291708|2,291795|3,291881|3,292055|4,292142|4 the third minijack is off by one 1/4 beat. Then at 293009|4,293095|4,293182|1,293269|1 there are only two minijacks… And similar inconsistencies throughout the section.

295176|3 is a single note despite representing a kick and creates a single minijack with the following hand - while at 297951|1,297951|4 not only is it a jump, but it creates two minijacks at once. A bit later, at 309049|3, the kick is a single note that doesn't even create a minijack with the following hand… you get the point.

I would suggest finding one single structure template for the repeating phrases of this section that you want to go with and remapping that part with this structure in mind, because (speaking from experience) trying to fix a load of inconsistencies in such an intense map is often tedious and unnecessarily time consuming.

245668|4,245668|1,245841|4,245841|1 (and other instances of this): This is a 44ms gap between releases. While it's not unallowed in theory (36ms is the minimum according to the RC), the usage of releases and release gaps anywhere near the limit needs to be heavily backed by the general structure and concept for the chart. To put it simply - these sorts of releases and gaps are fine if the map's general concept is to operate on tricky releases. This map's general concept seems to mostly revolve around minijacks and light speedjacks - which makes such gaps inappropriate.

A decent way to convey those without them being a painful difficulty spike would be to make them two separate minijacks on the same hand (for instance conseecutive minijacks on columns 1 and 2).

88211|3,88211|2,88298|3,88298|2,88384|3,88384|2,88471|3,88471|2 as for this one I see a better case for a quadruple jack here - however to balance out the difficulty it would be more reasonable for the jack to be onehanded (e.g. columns 1-2 or 3-4).

The song gets more complex and is adding more elements to it over time. The map tries to highlight those changes by ironically removing objects - this creates very arbitrary empty spaces in the middle of an intense section of the song. There are other ways to represent the new sounds, here are a few possible options to try:

  • keeping the minijacks on one column and have the density of the other hand balance out roughly
  • using short LNs on the same column to emphasize the new short sounds
  • (a little trickier) represent those beep boops as one single type of jump (preferably onehanded) and use them alongside the jumps that come from kicks while balancing out the patterning accordingly

The patterning should ideally aim to be balanced between the hands most of the time!

The first step to fix that would definitely be to rearrange the minijack positions to usually switch hands (for instance, after the first minijack on the left hand, the second should ideally aim to be on the right hand, unless there's some special pitch relevancy concept at play or whatnot)
